Estimating and Sales Workshops
Selling vs. Estimating This workshop addresses the difference between simply giving prices (estimating) vs. actively selling the job.

The Measure Call Many contractors are not familiar with a two-step sales process. Understanding the specific role of each step in the process is crucial for sales success.
Preparing for the Sales Presentation A well written proposal does more than simply document the agreement between the contractor and the customer. It also serves to differentiate the contractor from competitors. It can serve as an important selling tool.
  Sales Presentations
The Sales Presentation is the culmination of the process of educating the customer. This is the time when all of the pieces are tied together and the solution to the customer’s problem is presented.

Production Management Workshops
  Controlling the Job Site
During the sales process the salesman endeavors to build trust and confidence on the part of the customer. If the salesman is not a part of the production crew this trust and confidence can be easily and quickly undermined.

Job Site Management Efficiency on the job site does not occur by accident. It requires specific actions. As with any aspect of our business, if we want consistent results then our actions must also be consistent.
Job Folders Unless the salesman/ owner is on the job site for most of a job, production personnel will frequently have questions or other issues that require the owner’s involvement.
Change Orders  It is not unusual for changes to be made once a job begins. These changes may be additional work desired by the customer, changes necessitated by material shortages, the discovery of rotted wood, etc. Regardless of the reason for the change it should be documented. By training production personnel to spot these opportunities the contractor can increase his efficiencies, provide better service to the customer, and create a situation that benefits everyone.
Customer Service  To understand what constitutes superior customer service, we must first understand the context in which the concept of customer service arises.

Systems and Procedures Workshops

Implementing Systems and Procedures Many small business owners comment that they often have difficulty implementing new ideas or procedures into their business.
Organization and Time Management Time is a limited, finite resource. And because there always seems to be more to do than time allows, we struggle to squeeze as much into each day as is possible. The more efficiently we use our time, the better we are able to do this.
